Planning and Zoning

The Anderson Township Department of Planning and Zoning oversees all of the planning and zoning related matters that occur within the Township. They are the point of contact for any residential or commercial property modifications.  Planning and Zoning staffs the Board of Zoning Appeals and Zoning Commission, as well as the Anderson Township Comprehensive Plan Implementation Committee, the Tree Committee and the Public Art Implementation Steering Team.  The Department focuses on both short term and long term planning efforts within the Township and prides itself on updating the Comprehensive Plan every five years.  They also perform research and analysis functions by using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other related information sources to aid Anderson Township's elected officials and citizens in making sound planning and zoning decisions.
